加密货币世界第一个重大失败的故事，小日子国交易所Mt. Gox。
Mt. Gox，从出生到失败
Mt. Gox是世界领先的加密货币交易所，从2010年成立到2014年已有四年时间。它最初由程序员Jed McCaleb于2007年创立，作为流行游戏“Magic”的卡片交换。这个名字恰恰来源于首字母缩略词“Magic： The Gathering Online Exchange”。
2010年，它被转变为加密货币交易所，从一开始就对世界各地的用户取得了巨大的成功。到2013年，它持有全球所有加密货币交易所的约70%。2014年2月，这是有史以来最大的黑客事件的主题，花费了大约850，000个BTC。由于当年4月的那一事件，交易所不得不申请破产。
事实上，黑客事件已经在2011年发生，当时一名黑客设法渗透了该公司的安全系统，并窃取了大约2000个比特币。
直到2021年底，债权人和东京地方法院才就Mt. Gox的修复计划达成协议，结束了长达七年半的法律斗争。交易所债权人的还款计划于7月开始。
多年来，该交易所的权力在比特币交易中占据了主导地位。2013年，为了给市场降温，交易所决定暂停所有活动两天。
正是这些年来在加密货币市场中的这种巨大作用吸引了许多黑客，他们一再针对该公司的安全系统，直到2014年悲惨的结局，巨大的盗窃案摧毁了成千上万毫无戒心的用户的账户。

试图偿还贪污资金
这些攻击利用了安全系统中的缺陷，没收了交易所账户中存入的所有比特币。随着时间的推移，大约200，000个BTC被收回，在此期间，交易所用户开始了一场漫长的法律斗争，以获得他们挪用的部分资金。
CoinLab是Mt. Gox的主要债权人，继续对Mt. Gox提起数十亿美元的违约诉讼。2019年， Mt. Gox首席执行官马克·卡佩莱斯（Mark Karpeles）被判犯有伪造数据以夸大持股的罪行。
2021年11月， Mt. Gox的受托人Nobuaki Kobayashi宣布，该交易所99%的债权人接受了提交给东京法院的还款计划。
复原计划包括针对不同债权人的不同阶段的登记和补偿计划。因此，还款时间预计会很长，当然，并非所有债权人都能从中获得完全的满足。考虑到比特币目前的价格明显高于黑客攻击发生的2014年，偿还每个人的资金不应该缺乏。
